Attend our annual conference!
Please consider yourself personally invited to attend our CBEA annual conference to be held October 27-29 in Anaheim California. We have a great conference planned and will be bringing in a guest speaker for opening general session on Friday of unprecedented caliber.
In addition to exciting, relevant and timely breakouts that will make your teaching life easier and more effective, you don’t want to miss Doug Lipp. The author of Disney U www.douglipp.com, will be speaking on the subject of leadership and how to create loyal employees, subjects we can use both in our classrooms and in our departments and even in our organization! We have big sponsorship, over $20,000 from the “Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Economy” chancellor’s office navigators to make this keynote/workshop/luncheon happen, so this is a very special occasion we will be talking about for years. Don’t be left out!
The opening general session begins at 11:00 am on Friday October 27 and goes for three and a half hours including lunch, followed by a book signing. We also have pre-conference workshops with Microsoft that are free to all, first come first served. This means you should come in on Thursday evening if you are able.
Many of the board are attending California Adventure on Friday evening with a twilight ticket of $79. Twilight tickets let you pay for a part of a day after you have attended all the day’s conference sessions. Another $79 gets you desert and champagne seating at World of Color, but this option doesn’t open until late September. Disneyland also has Mickey’s Halloween party on Friday evening. Disney park tickets can be purchased from a discount website built especially for us, but you get the link in your confirmation email. The desert seating is only available directly from the Disney pages, as it doesn’t open until closer to the date. Remember, this hotel is around a mile from the front gates, and when I stay there I always walk, though shuttle and cabs are available.
All workshops are included and first come first served basis that lets you choose which breakout you want to attend in the moment. From Microsoft to Canvas to Open Education Resources, Cyber Patriot and thirty plus breakouts in all, you won’t be disappointed. We also have a great selection of exhibitors for you to see on Saturday and the usual silent auction. New members will be honored and introduced at our Past President’s reception Saturday early evening, and you will also enjoy our awards brunch on Sunday where we honor our teachers of the year and outstanding service members.
All the information and links to register for the conference and the hotel are at www.cbeaonline.org, but if you have any questions at all, please let me know.
We hope to see you there. Come join in with us and enjoy the best of CBEA!
